▷ mechanic/humane dual classes, went to Uehara for prep and La Sororite for uni ▷ DJ, uses her magic in live shows to give everyone awesome connected feels, is actually on Deadmau5 and Tiesto levels of well known probably ▷ french father, japanese mother ▷ father played cello (mechanic), mother was a relatively famous opera singer (humane), parents split bc mom wasn't really interested in being... a mom, or part of a family, or doing anything that wasn't career oriented, Ren lived with her dad ▷ developed humane plane first, mommy spazzed and was suddenly interested in her, demanded she come to Japan to do school in Uehara, tried to make her Mommy 2.0, didn't jive with Ren ▷ Ended up stronger with Mechanic magic, swapped midway through school, caused a big fuss with mommy, they aren't on good terms anymore ▷ Went to La Sororite bc papa wanted her to get the most of education she could, got through school but continued to focus on DJing and such ▷ Unharshably chill, most of the time. takes a lot to get her excited/invested, but once she is, she's hardcore about it see: music stuff, people, concepts, causes, etc ▷ 0 patience for bullshit ▷ she can and will punch a fuckboi ▷ sexuality - less sexually active than like everyone in b&m verse. doesn't like being hit on in general, at all. experienced a lot of it when she was climbing up in the dj/music industry, is very prickly about it now. will straight up tell people immediately to get off her dick. generally leans more towards girls and will make the first move if she's interested, but will hook up with a dude if she likes him. immediately loses interest if it's obvious she's being hit on/if they pull the confident boy trying to be smooth crap. ▷ TALL. she's somewhere between 5'11" and 6'. her mommy had her model some as a kid and she wasn't into it ▷ tom boy/androgynous dress, pinterest board for aesthetic ▷ v affectionate with people she's close to, will lounge around on them and smoke and listen to music and chill and that is her favorite thing ever ▷ loves any kind of art, will spend hours in museums or be autointerested any time someone mentions they do something creative. eats it the eff up. get high and talk to her about ur theories on life and the universe, okok, she's down. ▷ SUPER bouncy and excited and hyper while at a live show, whether she's spinning or not, she will dance her face off and love everyone around her, even if she despised them earlier, it's a v stark shift sometimes ▷ collects baseball caps liek woah. originally, this started bc her dad bought her an awesome expensive pair of headphones when she was in prep school at Uehara, but they were just slightly too big on her head, but fit perfectly if she wore a hat under them. so, since she wore them almost all the damn time, she p much always had a hat on. and baseball caps are just easiest to collect, she likes them. naomi borrows them a lot. ▷ do not touch her stuff (unless you are naomi), she will destroy u ▷ confluence: her line is mixing mechanic with humane, to create sound that affects a human's state of mind and emotions, and in a live show, she can sort of mind meld with the emotions/spirits of the people in the crowd if they're all in the same groove. this could be focused and honed to be some kind of telepathic thing, but she doesn't care to use it that way. sound and magic and the human soul are all connected, in her mind, and that's what she likes to do with her music - just connect people and let them feel the awesome, out-of-body, ethereal kind of feel to that thing ▷ banshee: due to the work her mom made her do, trying to get her to follow in her footsteps re: using magic-voice as a singer, she can do some emotion manipulating with singing, but she sucks at it. mostly, she's weaponized it as a banshee screech, to make ppl bleed from the ears and make sound waves a physical force 8D maybe also to offend her mother oops. ESTABLISHED/PLOTTED CR; ▷ Naomi; met at La Sororite, where they were dormmates, became bffs, ren likes to serenade her with whatever catchy songs she's sampling in the track she's working on that week. continued to room together after college, bc naomi is awesome and ren likes having her and her opinions around. ▷ Kon; met him at the coffee shop he works at, hears magic in his voice while he talks with customers, hangs out in the coffee shop just listening to him talk like a weirdo for a while before asking him to sing for one of her tracks just before they close, also like a weirdo. they keep in touch through uni, as they're studying the same sort of thing - affect of sound on humane plane - so they talk research and theories and experiment with powers and magic together. ▷ Illya; goes to illya to get some medicinal stuff to treat her ears, as being on stage with all the hella speakers and having headphones blasting all the time is bad for her hearing, and she'd heard he was badass with herbs. accidentally tells him her life story, but is aware of it bc sound effecting mental state is sort of her thing. illya's eardrops are the best, so she goes back to him regularly, but develops some tracks she can listen to on earbuds while talking to him to counteract the life story word vomitting, so it makes conversation more pleasant.
